Why was my car seat ad removed
In accordance with Health Canada’s Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, Umchinese not permit the advertisement of car seats which do not comply with the new safety guidelines, and can no longer permit ads for car or booster seats which were manufactured prior to January 1, 2012. All car seats and booster seats that were fabricated after that date comply with the new policies.
It is illegal to buy, sell, trade, or give away any car or booster seats that do not comply with the new regulations; anyone who does so may be held liable in civil court.
All ads for car seats must clearly state the date that the product was manufactured. Certain seats produced before 2012 may be compliant with these new regulations; to ascertain whether your seat complies, you can contact the manufacturer directly with the date of production, the serial number, and the model number of the seat in question. Please note that regardless of whether the seat complies, Umchinese will not be able to facilitate the sale of any car seat made prior to January 1, 2012.
Questions regarding these guidelines can be answered by Health Canada’s Consumer Product Safety, who can be reached at 1-866-662-0666.
